Official: Italian-born Nigerian centre-back signs new deal with Wolverhampton Wanderers

Through a statement on the official website, Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers have announced that Italian-born Nigerian defender Elvis Elendu has signed a new deal.

The centre-back has inked his first professional contract with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Elendu started the season as a first year scholar and was fully promoted to Wolves U18 squad.

Aged 17, he began his career as a goalkeeper with Pro Soccer Youth in 2020, but a recommendation from club director John Anastasiou saw him transition to an outfield role, a decision that has paid off as he continues to make impressive strides.

He has been described as an athletic, aggressive and physical defender who excels in individual duels and possesses an exceptional understanding of the game.

After departing Pro Soccer Youth, Elendu joined Cambridge United on schoolboy terms in January 2023, before he was snapped up by Wolverhampton Wanderers the following year.

Since his arrival at Wolves, he has appeared in fifteen matches in the U18 Premier League, and was an unused substitute in FA Youth Cup matches against Wimbledon and Everton last term.

Elendu's teammates Makenzie Bradbury and Minkyu Ji have also signed their first professional contracts with Wolves.
