Arsenal's Flying Eagles-eligible striker Obi-Martin scores for Demark U17s in friendly v Switzerland
Published: February 15, 2024
Arsenal striker of Nigerian descent, Chido Obi-Martin continues to catch the eye for club and country.
The Flying Eagles-eligible striker was among the scorers as Denmark U17s defeated Switzerland 4-0 in a friendly on Wednesday, February 14.
Obi-Martin broke the deadlock in the seventeenth minute when he received the ball on the edge of the pitch and hammered it into the corner of the goal.
And he doing so, the 16-year-old continued his fine form that saw him make the headlines for all the right reasons three months ago.
In November, Obi-Martin scored an incredible 10 goals as Arsenal U16s registered an impressive 14-3 win over Liverpool in a friendly.
By scoring against Switzerland, he took his tally for Denmark U17 national team to eight goals in ten games including a double brace against Norway on his debut for the age group.
Arsenal have high hopes for Obi-Martin and have fast-tracked him into the U18 setup in his final season as a schoolboy.
He has already made his debuts in the UEFA Youth League, FA Youth Cup and Premier League 2.
Despite speculation linking him with top clubs in Europe, Arsenal have already secured his future for at least two more years by tying him to a pre-scholarship agreement ahead of the 2024-2025 season.
