Manchester United likely to move for 2021 Super Eagles invitee but on one condition
Published: February 15, 2024
It is no news that Manchester United have been linked with a summer move for 2021 Super Eagles invitee Michael Olise but it appears that the interest now depends on the arrival of a new key figure at the club.
According to Footballtransfers, the Red Devils will only step up their pursuit of Crystal Palace with the assent of their new Sporting Director.
With the Premier League approving Jim Ratcliffe-owned INEOS group's 25% takeover of the club, the process of hiring a new Sporting Director has started.
The leading candidate for the position is Dan Ashworth of Newcastle who according to Fabrizio Romano has accepted Manchester United's proposal.
Should a deal be agreed, Ashworth will be responsible for sanctioning the transfers at the club including the move for Olise.
Olise's stock has risen prominently having established himself as a key player for Crystal Palace.
Last campaign, he bagged the Players' Player of the Season, Moment of the Season, and Goal of the Season awards for the Eagles and is showing no sign of relenting despite his fitness issues.
Despite making just 8 starts in the Premier League this term, he leads the goal involvement chart, having recorded 6 goals and three assists thus far.
