Super Eagles-eligible striker tight-lipped on future amid Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United links
Published: February 23, 2024
Super Eagles-eligible striker Joshua Zirkzee remained tight-lipped when questioned about his future with Bologna amid speculation linking him with a transfer to the Premier League.
The Bologna young sensation has been one of the revelations in the Serie A this season, playing a vital role in his team's surge for a finish in one of the continental spots.
This explains why he has caught the attention of Premier League giants, with Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal all said to be keeping an eye on him.
Likewise, Serie A giants Napoli, Juventus, and AC Milan have also been linked with a move him but it remains to be seen whether he will prefer to stay in the Serie A or move abroad.
Speaking on his future with Il Corriere della Sera via Goal, Zirkzee said he is only focused on helping Bologna at the moment.
" I'm only thinking about the match against Verona and then the one after that. It will be like this until the end of the season," Zirkzee said.
"Could the Champions League push me to stay? I'm not here to say to the people whether we will go to the Champions League or to Europe, I don't know."
Zirkzee has 10 goals and six assists this season across all competitions in what has been a remarkable season.
With his current form, it will be surprising to see him remain at Bologna beyond this season, the only uncertainty is whether he will prefer to stay in Italy or move elsewhere to try a new challenge.
