Published: February 26, 2024
Celtic-reared center forward Eseosa Sule was the hero for West Brom as they beat Arsenal 3-0 in a Premier League 2 encounter at Keys Park in Staffordshire on Monday night.
Sule, 17, ended his ten-year association with Scottish Premiership champions Celtic in February 2023 and signed a professional contract with his new employers West Brom three months later, after his seventeenth birthday.
The Glasgow native has been on fire since the start of the season and kept up his excellent form with a a pair of goals against a Gunners side with Ethan Nwaneri and Nathan Butler-Oyedeji in the starting lineup.
Sule has mustered eight goals in twelve appearances for the Baggies in the U18 Premier League and now has three goals in league and cup for the development squad.
Arsenal had work to do in the second half after Reece Hall’s 32nd minute strike handed the home team a one-goal advantage.
Sule came off the bench at minute 74 and doubled the advantage in the 90th minute when he scrambled home an effort to end Arsenal's hopes of a comeback.
Six minutes into injury time, the Scottish-Nigerian striker rounded the Gunners goalkeeper to score his second of the night.
