Celtic loanee Lawal named in EFL Team of the Week after scoring first career brace

Celtic loanee Bosun Lawal has been recognized for his outstanding performance during Fleetwood Town's 4-2 win over Wigan Athletic at Highbury Stadium on Saturday, March 2.
The versatile midfielder has been named in the English Football League Team of the Week powered by football statistics website Whoscored.com ratings.
Lawal scored his first career brace as Fleetwood Town came from behind to beat Wigan Athletic on matchday 36 in the League One.
The Republic of Ireland U21 international volleyed the ball home to give the Fishermen the lead in the fifteenth minute after playing a one-two with Jayden Stockley.
With Fleetwood Town trailing 2-1 after strikes from Stephen Humphrys and Thelo Aasgaard, Lawal brought the game back to parity in the 36th minute when he slotted past Sam Tickle from close range.
Lawal registered two shots against the Latics with both ending up in the back of the net and completed 84 percent of his passes.
The 20-year-old registered four tackles over the course of ninety minutes, completed a game-high two dribbles, won one foul for his team but gave away three.
He secured his spot in the EFL Team of the Week with a Whoscored rating of 9.01 and was the star man from Fleetwood's win over Wigan,
Lawal scored his first senior goal against Reading on October 24, 2023 and his second of the season was against Barnsley last month.
