Chippa United coach admits there's 'high possibility' of losing Nwabali amid QPR, Union SG links

Chippa United coach Thabo September has admitted that there is a high possibility of the club losing the services of Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali.
The 27-year-old was one of the standout performers at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations helping Nigeria advance to the final of the tournament where they lost to the host nation, Ivory Coast
He started all seven games played by the three-time Africa Champions, keeping four clean sheets and conceding four goals, two of which were in the final against the Elephants.
Due to his outstanding performances, he has been linked with several clubs including English Championship side QPR, Jupiler Pro League Club Union Saint-Gilloise, Saudi-based Al Ettifaq as well as Kaizer Chiefs.
September has admitted that the club risk losing the Nigeria international but they are relaxed about the possibility of his departure.
"It's not the right word to use, but of course I think there's a high possibility of losing him. I don't think it's a fear [to lose him], that's what the club is about," he said on Metro FM’s Sports Night Amplified with host Andile Ncube, via SABC Sport
Nwabali has played 26 games across all competitions for the South Africa-based club, has conceded 25 goals and registered 11 shut-outs.
He joined Chippa United last year and has grown in leaps and bounds, becoming one of the most reliable shot-stoppers in the DStv Premiership as well as the continent due to his performance at the last AFCON.
With a lot of interest in his signature particularly from European clubs, it will be surprising to see him not leave the South African side in the summer transfer window.
