Dessers in danger of being offloaded as Rangers set their sights on landing Hearts striker
Published: May 17, 2024
According to GIVEMESPORT, Rangers are targeting a move for Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland, and as a result has put Cyriel Dessers at the risk of being offloaded.
The Light Blues have lost the Scottish Premiership title to fierce rival Celtic for the third consecutive season, and are determined to bolster their squad ahead of the next campaign.
With Dessers blowing hot and cold since his transfer to Ibrox, the 55-time Scottish champions are eyeing a move for Shankland whom they had targeted before his move to Hearts.
The Scotland international has bagged 30 goals across all competitions this season, eight more than Dessers has for Rangers despite featuring in lesser matches than the latter.
It has been a season of ups and downs for the Super Eagles forward, having failed to be consistent in front of goal and undoubtedly played his part in letting Rangers miss out on the Premiership title.
He has won the Scottish League Cup with Philippe Clement's side and could make it a double if they triumph over Celtic in the Scottish Cup final on May 25.
The Belgium-born forward joined Rangers side from Cremonese last summer and has recorded 22 goals and eight assists across all competitions.
