Official: EFL new boys Bromley trigger option to extend contract of 2023 Flying Eagles invitee
Published: May 31, 2024
Following the conclusion of the 2023-2024 season, Bromley have announced their retained and released list.
Bromley secured promotion to the Football League after beating Solihull Moors 4-3 on penalties in the National League playoff final on May 5.
Ahead of their first-ever season in the EFL, the Lillywhites have confirmed that 2023 Flying Eagles invitee David Aziaya has been retained.
Aziaya is among the players who have had their contract options triggered and extended for 2024-2025.
The goalkeeper joined Bromley last summer following his release by Norwich City and featured in county cups plus one league match in the recently concluded season.
He enjoyed loan spells at Chatham Town and Dover Athletic in 2023-2024.
The 19-year-old trained with the Flying Eagles in Abuja in January 2023 before the U20 Africa Cup of Nations, but missed out on the final squad after suffering an injury during preparations for the tournament in Egypt.
Aziaya is a product of the Kinetic Foundation in south London, a programme dedicated to developing young players and getting them into professional academies across England.
Arsenal's Hale End Academy product, Olufela Olomola, central defenders Deji Elerewe and Idris Odutayo are under contract with Bromley for the 2024-2025 season.
