Man United or Chelsea? Transfer expert reveals club leading the race to sign ex-Super Eagles invitee
Published: June 12, 2024
Transfer expert Ben Jacobs has revealed the club with the advantage between Manchester United and Chelsea in the pursuit of the 2021 Super Eagles invitee Michael Olise.
The two Premier League giants are the predominant teams being linked with a move for the Crystal Palace forward his summer.
It has been reported that Chelsea have agreed personal terms with the France U21 international but that hasn't deterred Manchester United from remaining confident on getting his signature.
The situation regarding the position of the Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag has gotten clearer with the club confirming that he is going to remain in charge next term and as a result will continue their summer plans including the pursuit of Olise.
Despite that, Jacobs have told GIVEMESPORT that the Blues hold the advantage in the race for the French-Nigerian forward as Manchester United priority lies elsewhere.
"The only thing that might give Chelsea the slight edge is just they may be more inclined to move more aggressively, and perhaps the right-sided winger is a slightly higher priority compared to Manchester United, who will be looking for a striker, a left-sided central midfielder, a young left back and the centre back.
"I don't think that the right-sided winger for Manchester United is quite as high on the list of priorities."
The Stamford Bridge outfit are said to be keen on signing a winger and centre forward this summer with Olise apparently being their primary target for the former position.
Chelsea have completed the signing of a Nigerian already in Tosin Adarabioyo and the Crystal Palace forward could be another.
Olise recorded double figures of goal involvements yet again in the Premier League in the last campaign, registering 10 goals and six assists.
