Bolton Wanderers' Ibadan-born striker a target for Turkish clubs this summer
Published: June 29, 2024
Bolton Wanderers striker Victor Adeboyejo is wanted by unnamed Turkish clubs in the summer transfer window.
According to Football Insider's transfer correspondent Pete O'Rourke, the Ibadan-born player is a target for a number of Turkish clubs in this summer’s transfer window.
Adeboyejo has been on the books of Bolton Wanderers since January 2023, joining them from Burton Albion for an undisclosed fee.
Since landing at the Trotters, he has tallied thirteen goals and three assists in 64 appearances across all competitions.
Adeboyejo was in the Bolton side that missed promotion to the Championship via the playoffs, following a 2-0 defeat suffered at the hands of Oxford United in the showpiece last month.
A number of Nigerian players have moved from Turkey to England in recent years, including Super Eagles fullback Bright Osayi-Samuel and ex-Nigeria Olympic national team invitee Uche Ikpeazu who were acquired by Fenerbahce and Konyaspor respectively.
Nigeria legend and former Middlesbrough midfielder John Obi Mikel played briefly at Trabzonspor before calling time on his professional career.
A product of the Leyton Orient academy, Adeboyejo counts Barnsley, Bristol Rovers and Cambridge United among his previous clubs.
