Ex-Golden Eaglets striker starts training at Hammarby ahead of unveiling, 3-year deal a possibility in 2025
Published: August 05, 2024
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report with certainty that former Golden Eaglets attacker Tijjani Mohammed has started training at his new club Hammarby ahead of his unveiling.
Mohammed trained for the first time with his new teammates at Hammarby Talang FF - the reserve team of the Swedish club - on Monday morning.
The teenage forward has been snapped up on loan for the remainder of the 2024 season with an option to buy included in the deal.
The loan deal includes a purchase clause that would see Mohammed put pen to paper on a three-year contract and earn an automatic promotion to the first team if he impresses at the end of his loan spell.
Hammarby have made a move for Mohammed after his impressive performance at the 2024 Dana Cup, where he won the Man of the Match award as Mailantarki FC defeated Lyngdal FC 3-0 in the showpiece.
He played the role of a super sub in the final, coming off the bench to register a goal and an assist.
Few days later, Mohammed enhanced his burgeoning reputation by scoring five goals during Mailantarki's 13-0 win against Simensbråten in their opening game of the World Youth Championship in Oslo.
He did not complete the tournament as he had to travel to Stockholm in order to complete his transfer to Hammarby.
