Published: September 05, 2024
Chelsea have included four Nigerian players in their 27-man list for this season's UEFA Conference League.
The list includes centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo, young midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka, in-form forward Noni Madueke and talented winger Tyrique George.
Tosin, who moved to Stamford Bridge this summer, was involved in the two play-offs games against Servette, but is yet to feature in the Premier League, despite being named in the matchday squad for the three games played this term.
Chukwuemeka hasn't played a minute for Enzo Maresca's side this season, and was heavily linked with an exit this summer but couldn't secure a move but should be able to feature in the tournament's due to Chelsea's hectic schedule.
Madueke was one of the heroes during the play-offs against Servette, scoring a crucial goal in the first leg at Stamford Bridge to help the Premier League giants triumph over the Swiss side on aggregate.
George featured in the second leg against Servette which also marked his senior debut after coming close to making his first appearance towards the end of last season.
Chelsea will face KAA Gent, Shamrock Rovers, FC Noah at Stamford Bridge and will take on Panathinaikos, FC Astana and Heidenheim away from West London in the group fixtures
They will kick-off their campaign against Gent on October 3 at Stamford Bridge.
