Super Eagles-eligible midfielder beats Chukwueze, Pulisic, Reijnders to win AC Milan Goal of the Month
Published: November 02, 2024
Super Eagles-eligible midfielder Kevin Zeroli has won AC Milan's Goal of the Month award for October 2024, the Rossoneri informed through official channels on Friday, November 1.
The Italy U20 international of Nigerian descent was runaway favorite to win the monthly accolade, thanks to his outstanding finish for Milan Futuro in a 2-0 victory over AC Perugia in a Serie C - Girone B match last weekend.
Twenty seven minutes into the contest, Zeroli doubled AC Milan's advantage with a brilliant overhead kick strike after the goalkeeper pushed the ball away from goal.
The AC Milan Futuro captain saw off competition from first team stars Samuel Chukwueze, Christian Pulisic and Tijjani Reijnders to win the Goal of the Month award.
While Chukwueze was nominated for his match-winning strike against Udinese, the United States dazzler and Netherlands international were in the running for their goals in the Champions League win versus Club Brugge.
Chukwueze assisted Pulisic to break the deadlock as the Rossoneri defeated Club Brugge 3-1.
Born in Busto Arsizio in 2005 to an Italian father and a Nigerian mother, Zeroli made his Serie A debut against US Sassuolo on December 30, 2023 and has totaled four appearances in the division to date.
Zeroli became provisionally cap-tied to his country of birth, Italy last November after he was named in the starting lineup for a European U19 Championship qualifier against Liechtenstein.
The 2005-born player is under contract with AC Milan until the end of the 2027-2028 season.
