'An outstanding striker' - German football expert warns Liverpool to watch out for Boniface
Published: November 05, 2024
German football journalist Tobias Nordmann has cautioned Liverpool to be vigilant about Bayer Leverkusen's Nigerian striker Victor Boniface ahead of their UEFA Champions League clash.
The 23-year-old has been in impressive form, scoring the winning goal against Milan on matchday two.
According to Nordmann, who spoke to Liverpool's official website, Boniface poses a significant threat to Liverpool's defense.
"Boniface is an outstanding striker," Nordmann emphasized.
He also highlighted other key Leverkusen players, including Wirtz, Xhaka, Frimpong, Grimaldo, and Tah, who could potentially cause problems for Liverpool.
Nordmann praised Wirtz as the "X factor" who elevates the team's performance. He also lauded Xhaka as the "absolute boss in midfield," making it challenging for opponents.
Additionally, he noted Frimpong's exceptional speed and Grimaldo's technical prowess.
Leverkusen boasts an impressive away record, remaining unbeaten in seven matches this season, with four wins and three draws.
Their overall record against English teams is less impressive, with five wins, six draws, and 12 losses in 23 encounters.
Boniface has returned to action after a car accident, playing in the draws against Werder Bremen and VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga.
The Real Sapphire product has faced Premier League opposition in the past, he was in the Bayer Leverkusen side held to a 1-1 draw by West Ham United at the London Stadium in April 2024.
