Iwobi is most valuable Super Eagles player in PL, ahead of Awoniyi, Ndidi, Bassey, Ola Aina
Published: December 17, 2024
The latest transfer market values of Premier League players have just been released by transfermarkt.com.
Alex Iwobi remains the Super Eagles' most valuable player in England, with the Fulham midfielder valued at €25 million (approximately N41b in Nigerian currency), which is seven million less than his highest-ever valuation, which is €32m.
Iwobi has been in remarkable form in the Premier League this season, and has five goals and three assists in 16 games, the most he has recorded at this stage since he made his debut in the competition.
Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi is valued at €22 million, making him the second-most valuable Nigerian player in the Premier League.
Valued at €18 million, Wilfred Ndidi ranks third, just behind Awoniyi, but is far from his highest-ever valuation of €62 million.
The Leicester City midfielder has played in every game this season except for the 4-0 loss to Newcastle United at St. James' Park last weekend.
Calvin Bassey, valued at €16 million, is the fourth most expensive Super Eagles player, €2 million below his highest valuation.
The centre-back missed his first game of the season last weekend as he was suspended for Fulham's 2-2 clash with Liverpool at Anfield.
Nottingham Forest fullback Ola Aina's valuation has increased by €2 million, bringing it to €14 million.
Despite limited game time at Southampton, Paul Onuachu, valued at €11 million, ranks sixth.
Onuachu is yet to start a game this season for the Saints and he has not found the back of the net in the English top-flight since making his debut in February 2023.
Emmanuel Dennis, who has been inactive since the start of the season, is the least valuable Nigerian international in the English top flight, with a valuation of €4 million, two million less than Southampton's Joe Aribo.
