Through official channels, Russian giants CSKA Moscow have confirmed the departure veteran Super Falcons forward Francisca Ordega following the expiration of her contract.
The 31-year-old Nigerian international joined CSKA Moscow in 2021, penning an initial two-and-a-half-year deal with the 2020 Russian champions.
During her time with CSKA Moscow, Ordega played 84 matches, scoring 29 goals and providing 20 assists.
Her impressive performances helped the team win several honors, including two Russian Cup titles, four Super League silver medals, and one Super Cup victory.
Ordega's departure from CSKA Moscow marks the end of a successful chapter in her illustrious career. The forward had joined the Russian club from Spanish side Levante UD, where she had signed a three-year contract just five months prior.
Throughout her career, Ordega has been a loyal servant to the Nigerian national team, representing the country at all levels.
She played for the under-17 team at the 2010 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup and for the under-20 team at the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.
At the senior level, Ordega has been a key player for the Super Falcons, participating in three FIFA Women's World Cup tournaments (2011, 2015, and 2019). She scored her first World Cup goal against Sweden in 2015, helping Nigeria secure a 3-3 draw.
Ordega has also won several honors with the Super Falcons, including four African titles in 2010, 2014, 2016 and 2018.
She was also part of the team that won the 2021 Turkish Women's Cup, becoming the first African team to lift the trophy.
In June 2023, Ordega was part of Nigeria's 23-player squad for the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023, co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
The Rivers Angels alum, has previously featured for Washington Spirit and Sydney FC in the NWSL, as well as a short stint with Spanish Liga F giants Atletico Madrid.
