Chelsea skipper Reece James beats Tosin to win Goal of the Month award
Published: February 10, 2025
Tosin Adarabioyo’s stunning goal against Morecambe has been voted the third-best in Chelsea’s Goal of the Month award for January 2025, as captain Reece James claimed the top prize.
Tosin, who joined Chelsea last summer, delivered a spectacular strike in the match against Morecambe, showcasing his ability to contribute in attack despite being a central defender.
His goal, a powerful long-range effort, demonstrated his technique and confidence, earning him 12 percent of the fan vote.
However, it was James who took the award, with his last-gasp free-kick in a 2-2 draw with Bournemouth, receiving 51 percent of the votes.
The Chelsea skipper’s effort, which rescued a draw at Stamford Bridge, proved to be the decisive winner.
Cole Palmer finished second in the rankings with his goal against Crystal Palace, picking up 20 percent of the vote.
For Tosin, securing a spot in the top three is a testament to his growing influence at Chelsea.
The former Fulham defender has been solid at the back while also making key contributions in attack, and his recognition in the Goal of the Month voting highlights his impact.
Though he missed out on the top prize, Tosin’s goal remains one of the most memorable moments of Chelsea’s January campaign.
