FA Youth Cup: Obi-Martin fires hat-trick as Manchester United hit five past Chelsea

Manchester United's teenage sensation Chido Obi-Martin delivered a stunning hat-trick as the Red Devils cruised to a 5-1 victory over Chelsea at at Leigh Sports Village to book their place in the next round of the FA Youth Cup.

The 17-year-old forward was the star of the show, while James Scanlon added a brace for United. Meanwhile, Reggie Walsh netted Chelsea’s only goal.

Obi-Martin's latest heroics take his tournament tally to seven goals in three appearances, further solidifying his reputation as one of the brightest young talents in English football.

The Danish-Nigerian striker joined Manchester United last summer amid high expectations, having impressed at Arsenal’s academy, where he netted 32 goals and provided three assists in just 18 matches.

Since making the switch, Obi-Martin has continued his goal-scoring exploits, quickly adapting to life at Old Trafford.

Before this match, he had already scored 12 goals and provided two assists across all competitions for United’s youth teams.  His latest hat-trick now brings his tally to 15 goals.

His performances have caught the attention of Manchester United’s hierarchy, leading to his first professional contract with the club.

Manchester United are reportedly working on plans to integrate him into the first team, recognizing his immense potential.

If he maintains his current form, the young forward could soon make his senior debut, marking the next step in what promises to be a highly exciting career.

Olutayo Subuloye and Landon Emenalo played the full game for Chelsea, while Chizaram Ezenwata came off the bench at halftime.
