'One of the best strikers in the world' - Ex-Fulham midfielder speaks on future of Osimhen
Published: May 12, 2025
Former Fulham midfielder Mario Lemina has shared insight on the future of Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian striker, following several interest ahead of the upcoming summer window.
Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli last summer, has been sensational for the Yellow-Reds, scoring thirty-three goals and providing eight assists in thirty-eight matches across all competitions.
His performances have attracted interest from top European clubs, including Chelsea and Juventus.
The situation has created uncertainty surrounding the future of the Nigerian striker, as the summer window draws nearer.
While Galatasaray fans have expressed interest in Osimhen to remain at the club, the 26-year-old has expressed his desire to return to Napoli and seek alternative options.
Speaking before the team's training at the Kemerburgaz facilities, as reported by habersarikirmizi, Lemina called on the fans to respect the strikers' decision.
"Today, he is progressing in line with the goals," Lamina stated. "Galatasaray will want him to stay, but it is his decision; we have to respect it."
Emphasizing his smooth relationship with the Super Eagles striker, Lamina described him as one of the best strikers in the world.
"First of all, I can say that I have a very good relationship with Victor Osimhen, as with all my teammates. When I look at Victor, he is one of the best strikers in the world."
With a few months to the upcoming summer window, Osimhen will hope to continue his impressive form to ensure Galatasaray secure the domestic double.
