'It won't be because of money' - Expert reveals the only reason Osimhen won't stay at Galatasaray
Published: May 14, 2025
Turkish football expert Ersin Düzen has offered fresh insight into the future of Victor Osimhen, revealing that the Nigerian striker’s next move will not be driven by financial gain.
Osimhen, who joined Turkish giants Galatasaray on loan from Napoli, has set the Süper Lig alight with a stunning return of 33 goals and eight assists in 38 appearances across all competitions.
His performances have turned him into a cult hero among the Galatasaray faithful, who are eager for the club to keep hold of the star forward. Despite the affection he’s received in Istanbul, the 26-year-old Super Eagles striker has made it known that he plans to leave at the end of the season.
Top European clubs, including Chelsea, are reportedly monitoring the situation closely.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, as cited by habersarikirmizi, Düzen dismissed suggestions that a lucrative offer could sway Osimhen’s decision.
"If Osimhen will not stay at Galatasaray, it will not be because of money,” Düzen said.
"Galatasaray fans should know this clearly. The only reason Osimhen will not stay at Galatasaray is if a top European team is interested in him."
Düzen also highlighted the emotional bond Osimhen has developed with the Istanbul club and its supporters.
"Osimhen says, 'I am grateful to Galatasaray. The love between us is very different.' Such a bond, such a love is not experienced with everyone.
"Galatasaray did not only transfer a great football player, they also transferred a great character.
"If the separation is finalized, it would be very, very sad to say goodbye to such a player."
The pundit also addressed recent rumours linking Osimhen to Galatasaray’s arch-rivals, Fenerbahçe, clarifying that a deal with Napoli alone would not be sufficient to seal a transfer.
"Even if Fenerbahçe reaches an agreement with Napoli, it does not mean they will transfer Osimhen. Osimhen's decision is important."
With only a handful of matches remaining this season, Osimhen is focused on maintaining his fine form and helping Galatasaray complete a domestic double—an achievement that would cement his legacy in Istanbul, regardless of what the future holds.
