'They told him' - Insider shares Galatasaray's message to Osimhen over permanent transfer
Published: May 16, 2025
Galatasaray have intensified their efforts to sign Victor Osimhen on a permanent deal following their triumph in the Turkish Cup.
Renowned Galatasaray journalist Serhan Türk has provided new insights into the club’s aggressive efforts behind the scenes to sign the Napoli-owned striker.
According to Türk, Abdullah Kavukcu—one of the key figures authorized to lead transfer negotiations—has already held important discussions with both Osimhen and his representatives.
The talks reportedly included detailed financial negotiations, which have now been finalized, signaling a major step forward in the potential deal.
Türk underscored the significance of Osimhen’s current uncertainty about his future, suggesting that Galatasaray view it as an opportunity.
"Osimhen said he will stay," Türk was quoted as saying by habersarikirmizi.com, "but the support he receives—especially from Galatasaray fans during the upcoming match against Kayserispor—could prove decisive.
"His hesitation is actually working in Galatasaray’s favor as they push to convince him."
Galatasaray have communicated a clear message to the Nigeria international: "If you choose us, you will be happy, and so will we."
While Osimhen has yet to make a definitive decision, Türk revealed that the attacker intends to notify Galatasaray of his choice before making it public.
The club has also opened discussions with Napoli and reiterated their commitment to being actively involved in any potential transfer.
"They told him, ‘We want to be at the transfer table. If you choose us, we will be happy together,'" Türk reported.
As Galatasaray ramp up their efforts, all eyes will be on whether they can convince one of Europe’s most sought-after forwards to join their ranks in a permanent deal.
