Bolton interested in Crystal Palace's tri-national GK eligible for Nigeria, England and Canada
Published: May 20, 2025
Bolton Wanderers are lining up a summer move for tri-national goalkeeper Owen Goodman, as they seek to bolster their squad ahead of the new season, according to The Bolton News.
The 21-year-old, currently on the books of Crystal Palace, caught the eye with a standout campaign on loan at AFC Wimbledon in League Two.
Goodman made an impressive 52 appearances for the Dons, keeping 24 clean sheets and playing a key role in their push to the play-off final, where they face Walsall.
His performances have not gone unnoticed as the Trotters have identified him as a potential replacement for departing goalkeeper Nathan Baxter.
The English-born shot-stopper is one of several names being considered by Bolton, who are also monitoring Chelsea’s Teddy Sharman-Lowe—fresh from a productive spell at Doncaster Rovers—and QPR’s Murphy Cooper, who spent time on loan at Stevenage in League One.
Goodman, who also spent time on loan at Colchester United in 2023-2024, is highly regarded by Crystal Palace but is yet to make a senior appearance for the Premier League side.
Palace are reportedly keen to see him tested at a higher level next season, making another loan move likely.
Internationally, Goodman remains a player of interest for multiple nations.
While he has represented England at youth level, including the U20s, he is also eligible to play for Canada and Nigeria.
