'Has many suitors' - Former Liverpool star says Osimhen is hot property after Galatasaray heroics
Published: May 20, 2025
Former Liverpool and Galatasaray star Albert Riera has spoken out about Victor Osimhen’s future, as speculation continues to mount over a potential move away from the Turkish champions.
Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli, has been in scintillating form, scoring 36 goals and providing eight assists in 40 matches in all competitions.
His performances has created uncertainty surrounding his future - with several top European clubs, including Chelsea, showing interest in him.
Despite strong support from fans urging him to stay in Istanbul, the Nigerian international is expected to return to Napoli and explore other opportunities.
In an interview with Radyospor, as reported by habersarikirmizi, Riera praised Osimhen’s contributions to Galatasaray’s success and acknowledged the growing interest in the forward from top European clubs.
"Every player who plays good and great football has many suitors,” Riera said. "He had a perfect season at Galatasaray. He helped the team a lot."
Riera emphasized that the ultimate decision rests with Osimhen, but noted that both outcomes — staying or leaving — would be understandable.
"The decision is entirely Osimhen's. If he decides to leave, I understand that Galatasaray will understand this.
"But if he stays, he will make all Galatasaray fans very happy. He has been very successful."
As the summer window approaches, Osimhen will hope to continue his fine form to end the campaign on a positive note.
