'Loves it here' - Osimhen's brother jokes about Galatasaray stay as Super Eagles striker sets new record
Published: May 31, 2025
Victor Osimhen's older brother, Patrick Andrew Osimhen, has laughed off speculation linking the Nigeria national teamer with a permanent transfer to Galatasaray.
The Napoli loanee played his last game of the season on Friday night as Galatasaray defeated Basaksehir FK 2-0 at Ali Sami Yen Spor Kompleksi RAMS Park, and is now expected to make a decision about his future.
With the season concluded, he will return to his parent club Napoli before sealing a permanent transfer to another team in the summer transfer window.
Galatasaray are hoping to sign the former African Footballer of the Year on a full deal but they are likely to be priced out of a deal, with Napoli valuing him at 75 million euros.
Beyaz Futbol pundit Agir shared the conversation he had with Osimhen's brother, Patrick after the Turkish Super Lig match against Basaksehir FK.
In quotes relayed by habersarikirmizi, Agir stated: "I spoke to Osimhen's older brother Patrick Andrew Osimhen. I asked, 'Which team do you think Osimhen will go to?'
"He laughed and said, 'I think he will stay here.' I said, 'Are you joking?' He said, 'He loves it here.'"
Osimhen was a fan favourite throughout his loan spell, playing a pivotal role as Galatasaray clinched the domestic double.
His goal against Basaksehir marked his 37th of the season across all competitions — 26 in the Super Lig, six in the Europa League and five in the Turkish Cup.
According to Opta, Osimhen now holds the record for the most goals scored by a player in their debut season in Super Lig history.
He is also the Super Lig player who scored the most goals in a single season since 2000.
