'Anything can happen' - Tosin fires warning to Chelsea's rivals ahead of Fifa Club World Cup
Published: June 13, 2025
Chelsea's Tosin Adarabioyo is gearing up for the Fifa Club World Cup in the United States, confident that the Blues’ rigorous training and Enzo Maresca’s leadership will propel them to global success.
The centre-back, a cornerstone of Chelsea’s stellar 2024/25 campaign, highlighted the team’s maturity and focus as they prepare to compete against top clubs like Los Angeles FC, CR Flamengo, and Espérance in Group D.
Adarabioyo credited the squad’s rapid progress to their relentless work ethic.
"Just pushing on every day, I think," he said to Fifa's official website. "Training sessions every single day have been at a high level.
"We are a mature bunch of boys and performed at a high level throughout the season. We managed to hit our objectives."
This dedication helped Chelsea secure a UEFA Champions League berth and win the UEFA Conference League title under Maresca’s guidance.
Reflecting on the Club World Cup’s challenges, Adarabioyo noted the unpredictability of tournament football.
"There’s obviously a lot of strong teams in the competition, [Paris Saint-Germain] being one of them, Champions League winners, and then you’ve got other huge clubs at the competition as well,” he said.
"It’s tournament football, so you never know what can happen." He remained optimistic, adding, "But it’s tournament football, so anything can happen."
Adarabioyo also praised Maresca’s transformative impact. "It’s been fantastic," he said.
"Obviously, he’s implemented his philosophy into the club and into the team which we’ve all bought into, and as you can see we’ve had some fantastic results and we managed to hit all our achievements for last season."
Looking forward to the U.S. tour, he expressed enthusiasm for engaging with American fans.
"I just want to be able to interact with the fans. I especially know that the sport is growing hugely in America. So to be able to get out there in front of the fans will be fantastic."
Chelsea’s campaign begins June 16 against LAFC in Atlanta.
