Done deal: Motherwell loan in Celtic youth product Sule from West Brom
Published: July 07, 2025
Scottish Premiership side Motherwell have secured the services of promising Glasgow-born Nigerian forward Eseosa Sule.
The Steelmen confirmed via their official website on Monday afternoon that the 19-year-old has joined the club on a season-long loan from English Championship outfit West Bromwich Albion.
Sule, who previously spent a decade in Celtic's youth academy, departed the Hoops to join West Brom's scholarship programme in January 2023.
Now, in a bid to gain valuable first-team experience, he returns to Scottish football with Motherwell.
West Brom saw off competition from Newcastle United and Lyon to retain the highly-rated forward, who recently committed his future to the club by signing a contract through to the end of the 2026-2027 season.
Sule has impressed for West Brom's youth teams, earning his first professional contract with the club on his 17th birthday.
In the 2024-2025 campaign, he emerged as the Baggies' top scorer across all youth competitions with 14 goals.
His standout performances were rewarded with a senior debut in a League Cup clash in August 2024, coming off the bench for the final 18 minutes of a 2-1 loss to Fleetwood Town.
In his first words as a Motherwell player, Sule said: "I’m excited for this move.
"The chance to get regular first-team minutes was an opportunity I couldn’t say no to. This move makes sense. Being from the area, I know the club and what it means to the supporters.
"Many players have come here, and it has helped their development. I hope to be the next player to experience that."
Sule embarks on his first loan spell, joining Motherwell in time to be part of Jens Berthel Askou's team for the upcoming friendly against Carlisle on Tuesday, 8 July.
