Benin City-born CB keen on representing Nigeria joins Leeds United after Liverpool exit

English Premier League new boys Leeds United have announced the capture of central defender Louis Enahoro-Marcus.

Leeds United have put out a statement confirming that Enahoro-Marcus has joined the Leeds United Academy on a two-year contract until June 2027.

The Benin City-born defender was released from his contract at Liverpool at the end of the 2024-25 campaign, after 'almost a decade', bringing an end to his stay at Merseyside.

The 18-year-old centre-back is also eligible to represent the England national team, although he remains uncapped for both Nigeria and England at every level.

As previously reported by allnigeriasoccer.com, Enahoro-Marcus is open to representing Nigeria's national teams and he's targeting a call-up to the Flying Eagles ahead of the Fifa U20 World Cup.

Enahoro-Marcus is a defender who showcases his strength and ability through aerial dominance and a strong reading of the game, allowing him to impose himself across various match situations.

Last season,  he started sixteen games in the U18 Premier League, scoring once in a 2-2 draw against his new employers, Leeds United in September 2024.

Enahoro-Marcus joins 19-year-old Nigerian defender James Debayo in the Leeds United youth setup, with the latter offered a new contract at Elland Road ahead of the upcoming season.
