Fulham renew interest in 2020-21 Europa League assist king Chukwueze
Published: July 29, 2025
Fulham have revived their interest in AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze, with the Nigeria international once again on the radar of the Premier League side ahead of a potential summer move.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, via Milan Press, the Cottagers remain keen on the 26-year-old, having come close to securing his signature during the final hours of the January transfer window.
While talks collapsed at the time, the London club have not given up on bringing the talented wide man to Craven Cottage.
Chukwueze joined AC Milan from Villarreal, where he played a pivotal role in the Spanish club's triumphant 2020–2021 Europa League campaign.
He finished the competition as the top assist provider, delivering a series of standout performances as the Yellow Submarine lifted the trophy for the first time in their history.
Despite arriving with high expectations and a reputation as one of the most electrifying young wingers in Europe, the Super Eagles star has struggled to replicate his La Liga form.
In 69 appearances across all competitions for the Rossoneri, Chukwueze has registered just 14 goal contributions—well short of the 66 goal involvements he racked up in 207 appearances for Villarreal, where he won the Europa League in 2021.
Milan's failure to secure Champions League qualification has heightened the need to reduce their wage bill and generate funds for reinforcements, placing Chukwueze among the players who could be moved on.
The Nigerian, who still has three years remaining on his deal at San Siro, publicly admitted the 2024–2025 season was the most challenging of his professional career.
