'Big team' – Former Super Eagles goalkeeper reacts to Nwabali's links with Raja Casablanca

Former Super Eagles goalkeeper Dele Aiyenugba has weighed in on speculations linking Stanley Nwabali with a move to Raja Casablanca of Morocco this summer.

Nwabali, who rose to prominence with his impressive performances at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), currently plays for Chippa United in South Africa.

However, his strong displays for the Super Eagles have sparked interest from several clubs, including Raja Casablanca.

Speaking in an interview with All Nigeria Soccer, Aiyenugba expressed support for Nwabali's next career move while highlighting the mental demands and unique challenges of the goalkeeping position.

"He wears the show and knows where it hurts. It comes from the player's mind. It comes from him," Aiyenugba said to allnigeriasoccer.com.

"I just want to wish him the best of luck, anywhere he wants to go.

"He should just always be himself and keep working hard because goalkeeping is another different position entirely.

"If you're consistent, it pays off but if you're not, it is a problem for goalkeepers."

Aiyenugba, who had seventeen caps with the senior national team and played for several years in Israel, also acknowledged the pedigree of Raja Casablanca and suggested it could be a fitting destination for Nwabali.

"I think Casablanca are a big team in Africa. I think he would enjoy the plays," he added.

With the 2025/2026 season fast approaching, Nwabali will hope to sort his future while remaining a key figure in Nigeria's national team setup.
