'Cruised away' – Nevin suggests Chelsea centre-back Tosin struggled against Bayern striker Kane

Former Chelsea winger Pat Nevin has questioned the performance of Tosin Adarabioyo after the defender endured a difficult night against Harry Kane in Chelsea’s 3-1 defeat to Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League.

The 32-year-old found the net in both halves for the Bavarians, while Trevoh Chalobah's own goal opened the scoring for the Bundesliga champions at the Allianz Arena.

Cole Palmer, however, managed to register the Blues’ only strike of the game.

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Nevin criticized the defensive performance of Tosin and Trevor Chalobah during the match.

"In the big, big moments today Kane has stood up. He's cruised away from the likes of Chalobah and Tosin,” Nevin said.

Tosin, who joined the Blues as a free agent from Fulham, endured a difficult night against the England striker.

The 27-year-old lost both aerial duels he contested; managed only one interception and one tackle, but did produce three clearances.

His struggles will be a major worry for Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca, who now depends on him to marshal the Blues’ defense in the absence of Levi Colwill, who sustained an injury at the start of the campaign.

With Colwill sidelined, Tosin will be keen to step up and steady Chelsea’s defense as the Blues look to keep their European campaign alive.
