Ademola Lookman has rejoined Atalanta's first-team training, making himself available for selection ahead of Sunday's Serie A trip to Torino.
The 27-year-old forward, who had been absent from group activities since the summer, took part in his first full session with Ivan Juric’s side on Thursday morning at Zingonia.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Lookman requested to return to training after a conversation with Atalanta coach Juric and his teammates, where he explained that he had been going through a difficult personal period.
His teammates were informed of his situation during the meeting, which paved the way for his reintegration.
Lookman’s return comes just days after Atalanta’s 4-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in their UEFA Champions League opener, a result that highlighted the need for added attacking options.
The Nigerian international has not featured in any matchday squad this season, having been at the center of a tense standoff with the club over the summer.
The striker was heavily linked with Inter Milan during the transfer window and publicly accused Atalanta of failing to honor promises regarding a potential move.
After the transfer collapsed, Lookman skipped training, which led to disciplinary measures by the club. His absence created uncertainty about his future in Bergamo.
However, Thursday’s developments mark a turning point, with Lookman now back in contention.
Having emerged as one of Atalanta’s key performers last season, his availability provides a timely boost for Juric as the team looks to recover from their Champions League setback and build momentum in Serie A.
