Fabrizio Romano confirms Lookman has handed in transfer request to force move to Inter
Published: August 03, 2025
Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman has submitted a transfer request to Atalanta, signaling his strong desire to join Serie A rivals Inter Milan, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The 27-year-old Nigerian star, who has been a standout performer for Atalanta, is at the center of a heated transfer saga after the Bergamo-based club rejected Inter’s initial €45 million bid, inclusive of add-ons.
Lookman’s decision to formally request a transfer comes after Atalanta turned down Inter's lastest offer, with the club holding firm on a €50 million valuation for their prized asset.
Reports indicate that Lookman, who has already agreed personal terms with Inter for a five-year contract worth approximately €4.5 million per season, is growing increasingly frustrated with Atalanta’s reluctance to finalize the deal.
His actions, including unfollowing Atalanta on Instagram and removing all club-related posts, emphasize his determination to secure a move to San Siro.
Despite Lookman’s standout 2024-25 season, where he scored 15 goals in the Serie A and played a pivotal role in Atalanta’s Champions League qualification, the club is prepared to lose him but only on their terms.
Inter Milan, keen to bolster their attack under new coach Cristian Chivu, view Lookman as a priority target.
With negotiations ongoing, the coming days will be crucial in determining whether Inter can meet Atalanta’s demands or if the transfer saga will extend further into the summer window.
