Confirmed: Talented German-Nigerian forward signs pro deal with Bayern Munich
Published: August 09, 2025
With a statement on the official website, Bayern Munich have announced that talented Germany youth international of Nigerian descent Wisdom Mike has extended his contract with the German Bundesliga champions.
The highly-rated forward has signed his first professional contract with Bayern Munich.
Aged 16, Mike received one call-up for a first team game last season, but was an unused substitute as Bayern Munich defeated Werder Bremen 3-0 in the Bundesliga.
He was considered for this summer's Fifa Club World in the United States but was forced to withdraw from the roster due to academic commitments.
Mike played the final fourteen minutes of Bayern Munich's 4-0 win over Europa League winners Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday, August 7, coming off the bench to replace summer signing Luis Díaz.
The attacker began his career in MSV Duisburg's youth ranks before moving to the FC Bayern Campus via Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2022, aged 13.
He has featured for Bayern’s U19 side, including appearances in the UEFA Youth League, and was part of Germany's squad at the 2025 European U17 Championship, where he found the net against Albania in the group stage.
Blessed with blistering pace and superb close control, Mike has been likened to Ousmane Dembele for his rare ability to use both feet with equal proficiency.
