Juventus join the race for Chelsea midfielder Chukwuemeka as Blues push for permanent sale
Published: August 20, 2025
Serie A giants Juventus have reportedly joined the race to sign Chelsea midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka before the close of the summer transfer window.
According to English transfer expert Ben Jacobs, the Blues remain firm in their stance that only a permanent transfer will be entertained.
Chukwuemeka, who spent last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund, has been placed on Chelsea’s list of players available for transfer as the club looks to ease financial pressures and comply with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules.
The 21-year-old, a former Aston Villa prospect, attracted interest earlier in the window from RB Leipzig and Dortmund, with the latter keen on bringing him back on another loan deal.
However, Chelsea are said to be prioritizing a permanent sale rather than sanctioning another temporary move.
Chukwuemeka struggled to make an impact in Germany last season, registering just one goal in ten league appearances.
Despite his limited contributions, Juventus have now asked about his availability as they look to reinforce their midfield options ahead of the 2025/26 Serie A campaign.
With just under two weeks left in the summer window, Chukwuemeka will be hoping for a move away from Chelsea as he looks to reignite his career.
