'I love Iwobi' – Hargreaves urges Fulham to sign a right winger amid Chukwueze, Otele links
Published: August 25, 2025
Fulham recorded back-to-back draws to open the new Premier League campaign after holding Manchester United to a 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage on Sunday evening.
The Cottagers, who set a club record for points in the top flight last season, were in the mix for European qualification until the final weeks of the campaign.
Having finished eleventh in 2024-2025, Marco Silva's men are now aiming to bridge the gap and push into the European places this term.
Former England international Owen Hargreaves has urged Fulham to strengthen their attack by signing a right winger, insisting it could be the missing piece in the squad.
Fulham are reportedly weighing up moves for AC Milan right winger Samuel Chukwueze and versatile FC Basel forward Philip Otele.
Speaking on Premier League Productions after the Fulham versus Manchester United clash, Hargreaves said: "At the start of the game, they looked too passive, showed Manchester United too much respect.
"But one thing he has is one of the most experienced teams in the division. They hang in there and try to get a result, like they did against Brighton last week.
"I just feel they need another winger. I love Robinson and Iwobi on the left channel, two exceptional athletes. Maybe somebody off that right-hand side that can score some goals.”
Although Chukwueze has struggled for regular minutes at AC Milan, Fulham are not thought to be his preferred destination should he leave the San Siro before the close of the summer transfer window.
Fulham scouts have kept a close watch on Otele as the club considers tabling a bid for the winger.
