Chelsea set N53b price tag on Tyrique George amid interest from Roma
Published: August 27, 2025
Chelsea have reportedly placed a €30 million (approximately N53 billion in Nigerian currency) price tag on youngster Tyrique George following interest from Italian Serie A side AS Roma ahead of the close of the summer transfer window.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the fee includes add-ons and a significant sell-on clause, with the Blues ruling out the possibility of a loan move.
The club is understood to be open to a permanent sale to create squad space and generate funds for reinforcements in attack.
George rose to prominence last season after playing a key role in Chelsea's UEFA Conference League triumph and their FIFA Club World Cup success in July.
His performances have since attracted attention across Europe.
Roma reportedly turned to George after failing to finalise a deal for Manchester United's Jadon Sancho, despite reaching a club-to-club agreement.
Aside from Roma's pursuit, Chelsea are said to have received approaches from two Premier League clubs and a Bundesliga side.
However, AS Roma are unlikely to meet the valuation due to budget constraints.
With just days left before the window closes, George will be keen on securing a move away to secure regular first-team football and continue his development.
