Transfer guru confirms Super Eagles striker a 'serious target' for Wolverhampton Wanderers
Published: August 28, 2025
Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly opened talks to sign Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare, with negotiations progressing on both the player’s side and with his club.
Transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that last season’s Belgian Pro League top scorer has emerged as a ‘serious target’ for Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The 24-year-old Nigerian has become one of the standout names in the summer transfer window after a prolific campaign in Belgium.
Arokodare hit 23 goal in all competitions for Genk last term, establishing himself as one of Europe’s emerging forwards.
Wolves are pushing to strengthen their attack before the deadline and see the towering 1.97m striker as a prime candidate to lead their line.
The club has struggled for consistency in front of goal in recent seasons, and manager Vítor Pereira is eager to bring in a clinical finisher who can adapt quickly to the Premier League.
Arokodare joined Genk from French side Amiens for around €5 million and initially endured a slow start.
However, under the guidance of coach Thorsten Fink, his game flourished. His blend of aerial strength, composure, and sharp movement in the box made him a dominant presence, catching the attention of clubs across Europe.
Napoli and AC Milan were previously linked with the striker, while interest also emerged from the Bundesliga.
With those clubs now pursuing other targets, Wolves are in pole position to secure his signature.
