Flying Eagles squad numbers: Ayuma inherits iconic No.10 jersey once worn by Iheanacho, Etim Esin

Fifa has confirmed the squad numbers that Nigeria's Flying Eagles will wear at the U20 World Cup in Chile, with the team set to begin their campaign against Norway on September 29.

Manager Aliyu Zubairu has named a 21-man squad for the tournament, which runs from September 27 to October 19, 2025.

If squad numbers are any indication, Ebenezer Harcourt is in line to be Nigeria's first-choice goalkeeper after being handed the number one jersey.

Defensive midfielder Daniel Daga retains the number 4 shirt he wore at his maiden U20 World Cup, while captain Daniel Bameyi will once again don his familiar number 6.

In attack, Lillestrom striker Kparobo Arierhi has been entrusted with the number 9 jersey, traditionally reserved for the team's leading striker.

He will be supported by Sani Suleiman (7), Nasiru Salihu (12) and Abdullahi Ele (18).

Creative midfielder Israel Ayuma has been handed the prestigious number 10 shirt, worn in the past by Nigerian talents such as Etim Esin at Chile 1987, Kelechi Iheanacho at New Zealand 2015, and Victor Eletu at Argentina 2023.

After their opener against Norway, the Flying Eagles will face Saudi Arabia on October 2 before concluding their Group F fixtures against Colombia on October 5.
