2025 Flying Eagles invitee scores in fifth consecutive league game for Chelsea youth
Published: September 27, 2025
2025 Flying Eagles invitee Chizaram Ezenwata continued his brilliant start to the U18 Premier League season by scoring a brace for Chelsea in a 4-1 win over West Brom on Saturday.
The talented striker has now scored in five consecutive matches for the Blues' U18 side, underlining his status as one of the academy's standout performers.
The forward kicked off the U18 Premier League campaign by scoring on his season debut against Crystal Palace, then continued his fine form with goals in consecutive fixtures against Aston Villa, Arsenal, Brighton and West Brom.
At half-time, Chelsea U18s led West Brom 2–1, having overturned an early deficit with goals from Lewi Richards and Sol Gordon after Rio Parmar's opener.
Ezenwata bagged a double in the second half to cap another commanding performance from the Young Blues, who have already swept aside Crystal Palace (4–2), Aston Villa (6–1) and Brighton (4–0).
The only blemish on their record so far came against Arsenal, who held them to a 1–1 draw on September 13.
Chelsea occupy second place in the U18 Premier League with 13 points, though they have a game in hand on Southern Section leaders Arsenal.
Ezenwata was called up for a Flying Eagles training camp before the team travelled to Chile for the Fifa U20 World Cup, but Chelsea did not authorise his release for the Abuja gathering, citing club duties.
