Super Eagles watch: Werder Bremen duo Victor Boniface and Agu injured in training
Published: October 01, 2025
Werder Bremen's Nigerian internationals Victor Boniface and Felix Agu faced setbacks during Tuesday’s training session ahead of their home clash with FC St. Pauli on Saturday, according to a report by Bild.
Felix Agu suffered an unfortunate injury to his left shin following a tackle and was forced to observe the rest of the session from a golf cart.
The Super Eagles fullback received immediate attention from physios Johannes Haberlandt and Laura Kersting.
Victor Boniface was also involved in a challenge, this time with Julian Malatini, leaving him on the ground holding his right foot.
After receiving treatment, Boniface was able to continue training but appeared cautious, repeatedly touching his sore foot.
Both Agu and Boniface are reportedly in stable condition and will be closely monitored in the remaining days of preparation.
Their participation will be crucial for Werder Bremen, as the team looks to secure a positive result at home.
Fans will be eager to see the Nigerian forwards back at full fitness and contributing on matchday.
Later this week, Boniface and Agu will learn whether they have been included in the Super Eagles squad for the back-to-back World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Benin.
