OBINNA OBIEFULE Lands In Norway For SK Brann Test
Published: June 10, 2012
Norwegian top flight club SK Brann are set to beat teams in Israel and China for the signature of 24-year-old Nigerian forward Obinna Obiefule.
Chinese club Guangdong Sunraycave FC and Maccabi Haifa had scheduled Obiefule for tests. But Brann who have two other Nigerian players - Chuks Akabueze and Kim Ojo- on their payroll have moved faster by inviting the prolific forward immediately for trials with a view of offering him a contract if he's successful.
''Obiefule visited Norway and trained with Lyn Oslo already as a 18-year-old, and wants to test with SK Brann now. There is interest in him from several quarters after his success in Malta in the 2011 - 2012 season,'' said Rolf Magne Walstad, Sporting Administrator of Brann to the official website.
Obiefule, who landed in Norway on Sunday afternoon, scored a bucket-full of goals last season for Mosta FC, finishing with 34 goals to emerge as the most potent striker in the history of the BOV Premier League.
