PHCN's Gen Set Razes Down GBENGA OKUNOWO's Mansion

Tragedy has struck another Ibadan based footballer again as fire razed down the multi-million naira duplex of Gbenga Okunowo in the early hours of Sunday.
The fire incident occurred from an explosion of a generating set belonging his next door neighbor, PHCN’s office at Capital Building, Ring-road Ibadan.
While narrating his ordeal to newsmen amid tears, the ex-Barcelona player said he heard a sound of an explosion from the compound of PHCN which shared the same fence whit him at exactly 2:am.
''But before we could rush there to ascertain the situation, what we met was a big inferno that had jumped into the roof of my house. What I’m wearing now is only thing that left on me, everything got burnt”, the ex-Super Eagles player lamented.
Counsel to Okunowo, Biodun Alli who was also at the scene of the incident when newsmen visited there also disclosed that step would be taken on the damaged properties located at Ajia Street, off Iyalode cresent, behind PHCN office, at Capital Building, Lister bus-stop; Ring-road Ibadan.
Also there to sympathize with their colleague who just made a return to the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) this season was the Club Manager of 3SC, Mutiu Adepoju and Dimeji Lawal.
All attempts to get reactions from the Public Relation Officer of the PHCN’s distribution office that owned the generating set that caused the fire proved abortive, as he was not available as at the time of filling this report.
