John Chibuike Starts Full Training After Groin Surgery
Published: March 20, 2013
After failing a late fitness test, Rosenborg's John Chibuike was unavailable for the club's opening match in the Tippeligaen against Odd Grenland last weekend.
Two weeks ago, the 24 - year - old had groin surgery in Germany after he felt pains in his adductor muscles.
The midfielder has hinted that he will be in the squad in the second round of matches when RBK host SK Brann on April 1.
''I went to Germany for corrective surgery. Before then, it was a little bit stiff, sometimes painful. The doctor asked me to come back to correct it but I am 100 percent fit again.
''I have started full training now. I'll start playing after the international break,'' says Chibuike to allnigeriasoccer.com.
In Chibuike's absence, Rosenborg won their first game of the season, beating Odd Grenland away by the odd goal.
RBK have surrendered the Premier League crown in the last two campaigns to the new force in Norwegian Football, Molde, who have in their ranks the Nigerian striker Daniel Chima.
''I think this is our year to win the league again. But it is not going to be easy for us. There are some good teams in Norway and they were busy in the transfer market with the addition of new players. So we need to work more hard to win the title,'' Chibuike said.
Rosenborg, who are one of the glamor teams in Scandinavia, have won 8 Tippeligaen titles since the start of this millennium.
