Heartland FC Visit Jossy lad's Residence, Commiserate With Family
Published: May 14, 2013Nigerian Premier League side, Heartland Football Club yesterday paid a condolence visit to the family of late Joseph Ladipo popularly known as Jossy Lad at the Kuola, at the Apata Ibadan residence of the former Super Falcons coach.
The Owerri side, which is scheduled to play their week 12 encounter against Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) in Ibadan on Wednesday, visited the deceased family with the entire members of the team where they were received by former defender of IICC, Idowu Otubusen and children of the departed sweat merchant. The team manager Heartland, Promise Nwachukwu who led other top officials of the club which included the team’s technical consultant, Christian Chukwu, Tonex Chukwu and the media officer Cajetan Nkwopara pray God to be with the family former chairman of 3SC management board left behind.
''We will all miss the late Coach, if not for anything, his wealth of experiences which we had all benefited from at one point or the other would be greatly missed.
''What Jossy Lad had contributed to the round leather game in Nigeria cannot be quickly forgotten, we can only pray God to preserve and be with you,'' Nwachukwu said in his speech to the family.
Also speaking, the former Green Eagles captain, Christian Chukwu expressed his unhappiness to the manner that led to the demise of the deceased.
Chukwu said: ''I’m not pleased neither satisfied with the what led to the death of Jossy Lad. I think he could have lived more if there have been quick response to the call of his family to take him abroad for better treatment.
''It has been the attitude of our society and even government showing nonchalant approach to the plight of their heroes in their trying times.
''I think we need to have a change of attitude in order to encourage the up-coming ones,'' Chukwu noted.
