West Brom on brink of N7.9 billion deal for left-footed Nigerian forward

Championship side West Bromwich Albion are on the verge of completing the signing of Barcelona-born Nigerian forward Kareem Tunde, according to reports in the Spanish and English media.

Sky Sports UK reports that the Baggies are closing in on a deal for the left-footed winger.

West Brom and Levante have reportedly reached a club-to-club agreement for the transfer of the highly rated 21-year-old, with the Spanish club set to receive a potential £4.3 million (approximately ₦7.9 billion) for his services.

The deal consists of an initial £2.6 million fee, with a further £1.7 million available in performance-related add-ons, including a bonus linked to West Brom securing promotion to the Premier League.

Tunde is yet to represent either Nigeria or Spain at senior international level.

He is eligible to play for the Super Eagles through his father, while his Spanish mother makes him eligible to represent world champions Spain.

The 21-year-old was left out of Levante's matchday squad for Monday evening's clash with Osasuna, further suggesting that a move away from Los Azulgranas could be imminent.

Tunde is under contract with Levante until the end of the 2028-29 season after signing a contract extension in March 2026.

The versatile attacker began his football journey with Sant Andreu before moving to Espanyol.

He later spent time at Barcelona, Damm and Levante, where he eventually broke into the first team.

Last season, Tunde featured 21 times for Levante in La Liga, and was also called up for the Copa del Rey clash with CyD Leonesa.
