Arthur Okonkwo received glowing praise from Charlton Athletic boss Nathan Jones after making an impressive debut for the Championship club following his season-long loan move from Wrexham.
The deal was completed in time for the Nigerian goalkeeper to be named in the starting lineup for Saturday's trip to West Ham United, and he played his part as the Addicks secured a 2-1 victory.
Charlton took control of the game through goals from Lloyd Jones and Tyreece Campbell, while Joël Piroe's 74th-minute strike proved to be only a consolation for the Hammers.
Okonkwo was called into action several times and produced a number of important interventions to help his new side protect their lead.
The Super Eagles goalkeeper dealt comfortably with Castellanos' header in first half stoppage time before making a one-handed save to deny Piroe from the edge of the penalty area.
The 24-year-old also parried an effort from Castellanos in the second half before producing a superb tip over the crossbar to deny Manchester City loanee Divine Mukasa.
Jones was delighted with Okonkwo's contribution and his attitude since joining the club.
"Arthur Okonkwo was outstanding. It's wonderful to work with him. He has shown real desire to join the football club," he was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
Okonkwo has entered the final year of his contract with parent club Wrexham and will leave the Red Dragons as a free agent at the end of the season if his contract is not extended.
