Onuachu v Silva: Trabzonspor insider explains key difference between forwards

Trabzonspor insider Serkan Kilinç has revealed a major difference between Super Eagles forward Paul Onuachu and transfer target Fábio Silva as the Turkish club looks to add another attacking option to its squad, according to a report by 61saat,

Trabzonspor have opened negotiations for Silva, with the Portuguese striker viewed as a different profile from Onuachu.

According to Kilinç, the 24-year-old Silva is unlike the tall and physically imposing target-striker style associated with Onuachu.

The Portuguese forward is more mobile and technically oriented, allowing him to operate in different areas of the attack.

Onuachu, meanwhile, offers Trabzonspor a strong physical presence in the final third.

Standing at 2.01 metres, the Nigerian striker is particularly suited to aerial situations and battles with opposing defenders, making him a traditional focal point for attacks.

Silva’s game is built more around movement, close control and combination play.

He can drop deeper to connect with teammates and move towards the wings or number 10 position, giving his team greater fluidity in attack.

The difference between the two forwards could make Silva a complementary option rather than a direct replacement for Onuachu.

While the Nigerian can provide a focal point through his height and physical strength, Silva can create movement around him and contribute to attacks through his mobility and technical qualities.

Trabzonspor are seeking to complete a deal for Silva, with the club proposing a loan move that would include a purchase option as negotiations with Borussia Dortmund continue.
