EXCLUSIVE: Sliema Wanderers Go Head - To - Head With Balzan For Joseph Okonkwo

Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Joseph Okonkwo is in talks with Maltese Premier League clubs Sliema Wanderers and Balzan FC regarding a contract.

The 26 - year - old attacker is now a free agent after he decided not to renew his contract with Mqabba at the end of the 2012 - 2013 season.

He has a good reputation in Malta, having represented Valletta and Floriana - two of the heavyweights in the Island Nation - in the past.

To secure the signature of the former Pepsi Academy player, Sliema Wanderers and Balzan face foreign competition, with clubs in Greece and Tanzania mulling over offering him a contract.

Joseph Okonkwo scored 13 goals for Dingi Swallows in the 2009-2010 season.
