Anglo - Nigerian striker Carlton Cole must prove his fitness to Sam Allardyce before being offered a contract.
According to the Daily Star, the West Ham manager is keen to bolster his ranks with the addition of the 29 - year - old attacker but he must show he is in top shape.
“He’s training with us at the moment and hopefully when Carlton gets fit enough to be part of the squad then we’ll talk to him about the contract situation.
“If Carlton proves that he can be the player we all know he’s capable of being, then hopefully he’ll join us as well,”Sam Allardyce told the Daily Star.
This past summer market, Carlton Cole’s situation was monitored by clubs in Turkey, Greece as well as other Premier League teams but nothing came out of it.
